Tesco appoints Imran Nawaz as chief financial officer

Tesco has announced that Imran Nawaz will join its board as chief financial officer.

Nawaz currently holds the same position at Tate & Lyle and was previously senior vice president of finance of Mondelēz Europe.

He will join the supermarket in April next year.

Ken Murphy, Tesco group chief executive, said: “At the start of this search, we set out with the goal of finding a candidate with a blend of financial, strategic and leadership qualities, and with the right values to fit into the Tesco culture. In Imran, we have found all those attributes and I am looking forward to working alongside him.”
