Tesco’s Dunnhumby appoints Jamie Samaha as new chief executive

Tesco’s Dunnhumby has appointed Jamie Samaha as its new chief executive to lead the next phase of growth.

Samaha will join the customer data science company on 20 July, succeeding Josh Bottomley, who is stepping down after three years in the role. Bottomley will remain with the business until mid-July to support a smooth handover.

Until May 2026, Samaha was chief executive of Reward, the customer engagement, data insights and commerce media company, where he led the business through a significant period of growth.

Before that, he served as group chief executive of Australian fintech company Prezzee, where he expanded the business across the UK and US. Earlier in his career, he held the role of executive vice president of consumer engagement services at Mastercard.

Ken Murphy, Tesco group chief executive said: “We are delighted to welcome Jamie as the new chief executive of Dunnhumby.

“His strong track record of commercial execution combined with his experience at the intersection of data, loyalty, media and customer engagement makes him ideally placed to build on the progress of recent years and scale Dunnhumby’s impact for retailers and brands globally.”

Samaha said: “Dunnhumby has an exceptional heritage, outstanding talent and deep partnerships with many of the world’s leading retailers and brands.

“Retail and consumer markets are evolving rapidly, and few companies are better placed than Dunnhumby to help clients navigate that change and unlock growth. I’m excited to join the team and build on the strong momentum as we shape the next chapter of Dunnhumby’s growth together.”
