Morrisons asks head office staff to return to full time working
Morrisons has asked its head office staff to be at their desks five days a week after abandoning a policy that allowed them to work compressed hours.
According to The Telegraph, the decision came into force this month.
Staff at the office in Bradford were previously required to work 37.5 hours per week over four and a half days as part of a flexible working pilot started in 2020.
A spokesman for the supermarket told the publication that the move will improve customer service and ensure that shelves are better stocked.

It is understood that staff will still be able to work from home and the office during the week, and some may be able to work flexibly if they need to.
Last week, Morrisons announced a 3.9% increase in second quarter like-for-like sales after bouncing back from a Blue Yonder cyber attack in November.
In the 13 weeks to 27 April, the supermarket’s total sales rose by 4.2% to £3.9 billion while underlying EBITDA climbed by 7.2% to £344 million in its first half.
