Morrisons appoints Maz Ahmed to lead convenience and wholesale
Morrisons has named Maz Ahmed as its new managing director of convenience and wholesale.
He has succeeded Matthew Heslop, who stepped down as group wholesale and convenience director in February.
In his new position, Ahmed will be responsible for the further growth of Morrisons’ convenience business, which is planning to add hundreds more franchise stores to its estate in the years ahead. He will also lead on driving improved performance from the company owned Morrisons Daily stores.
Ahmed has worked extensively in operations at Morrisons, having spent three years as operations director at Myton, the supermarket’s food manufacturing business. Most recently, he served as group commercial finance director of Morrisons.
Reporting directly to the supermarket’s chief executive Rami Baitiéh, he has been working in his new role since the spring.
