Lidl revamps loyalty app

Lidl has launched a new rewards system via its Lidl Plus app which is designed to give shoppers the freedom to choose how they spend their points.

Called Lidl Plus Points, the scheme enables customers to access benefits such as free or discounted products and money off vouchers to spend in-store.

Points will be available to collect and redeem via the Lidl Plus app from 5 May, with double points available to collect on all fruit items until 22 May.

Louise Weise, chief customer officer at Lidl GB, said: “At Lidl, our core purpose has always been to deliver value to our customers, providing a seamless shopping experience without compromising on quality or the savings shoppers know and love.

“Everything we do is driven by a deep understanding of customer needs and a commitment to exceeding their expectations.

“We’ve done a big piece of work to listen to customers and it was clear from the feedback that they wanted more freedom to decide the rewards that suit them.”

Lidl said shoppers will be able to earn points on every transaction which can then be spent across hundreds of products.

To mark the launch, Lidl is gifting new and existing customers 100 free points, which can be instantly redeemed for rewards such as cheese twists, bananas, or chocolate digestives.

It has also teamed up with Liberty X to release ‘Just a Lidl…’, a remix of the band’s 2002 hit Just a Little that highlights the savings shoppers can secure via the Lidl Plus app.
