Cornish Bakery chooses Harrogate for 58th location

Cornish Bakery is continuing its rapid expansion with the opening of a new branch in the Victorian spa town of Harrogate.

Situated on James Street, the bakery occupies a 19th century property that has retained original features such as gilded columns and stained-glass windows.

Cornish Bakery founder and owner Steve Grocutt said: “We’re delighted to be opening our Cornish Bakery in the beautiful spa town of Harrogate.

“We’re on a constant journey to redefine what a bakery is and what it can be. We also have a belief that our bakeries should be part of the community and so our newly employed team will be actively seeking opportunities to work with and support local organisations in the Harrogate area.”

The 58th opening for the company follows new stores launched in Norwich, Bakewell, Bury St Edmunds, Canterbury, Truro, Whitby Harbour, Plymouth Barbican and Caledonian Park in the last 12 months. A new bakery in Cheltenham and a relocation to bigger premises in Salisbury will follow in the coming weeks.

Cornish Bakery is working towards a target of 100 bakeries in the next two to three years.
