Asda Foundation awarded £3.2 million in grants to local community groups in 2024
The Asda Foundation charity gave 2,603 grants totalling over £3.2 million in 2024 to enable community groups to address the issues that matter most in their local areas.
The announcement was made in the foundation’s recent 2024 Impact Report, which also revealed that the grants were used to fund projects such as keeping the lights on in community centres at risk of closing, refurbishing outdoor spaces, and bringing people together to combat isolation and loneliness.
During the year, Asda Foundation also launched a new Foodbank Fundamentals Grant for organisations working to distribute food and alleviate food poverty. This resulted in £265,000 of funding being awarded to 271 food distributors across the UK ahead of the winter months.
Funded by an annual donation from the Asda supermarket chain, Asda Foundation has awarded over £57 million to good causes in its 36-year history.
Next month, Asda Foundation will open the Local Community Spaces Fund with up to £1.25 million of funding available.
