Aldi pledges to offer virtual work experience to 10,000 young people

Aldi is to offer 10,000 young people access to a virtual work experience programme by the end of 2025.

Open to UK students aged 13 and over, the free online course aims to introduce young people to the range of careers available in retail and help them build skills to support future applications. Roles covered range from warehouse and store operations to office based work.

Students are also given the opportunity to learn about Aldi through a series of videos from its colleagues, interactive quizzes and activities.

Once students complete the course they are awarded a certificate.

Lisa Murphy, training and development director at Aldi UK, said: “We know how important work experience is in helping young people take their first steps into the world of work. Our virtual work experience programme has already proved popular with thousands of students, and we want to ensure even more benefit from it.

“That’s why we’ve made the commitment to reach 10,000 young people by the end of this year, making it easier than ever for them to access opportunities, regardless of where they live or their personal circumstances.”

Aldi is recruiting more than 350 new apprentices in 2025, with opportunities available in stores across the country.
