Timberland to expand Timberloop take-back programme

Timberland is to expand its Timberloop take-back programme to the UK, Germany, France and Italy following its launch in the US earlier this year.

The brand will also be taking the scheme to other European markets as well as APAC at a later date.

Timberloop encourages customers to return their worn Timberland footwear, clothing or accessories to a Timberland store or by using a pre-paid, ship-from-home option.

Returned products are either disassembled and recycled or upcycled into new products or refurbished for resale. Prices for refurbished resale items will range from 40% to 60% less than Timberland’s new in-store and online goods.

Susie Mulder, global brand president for Timberland, said: “We’ve worked hard to ensure that every touchpoint – from the product take-back boxes in our retail stores to the new Timberloop resale website – makes it easy for consumers to participate in the Timberloop programme,

“I’m excited to expand the programme to select European markets today and look forward to even more consumers joining in our effort to ‘close the loop’ .
