Sosandar returns to profit despite drop in revenue

Sosandar has hailed a year of strong strategic progress with a return to profit despite a drop in revenue.

For the year to 31 March, the womenswear brand said it expects to deliver a pre-tax profit of not less than £0.5 million compared to a loss £0.3 million in the prior 12-month period.

Meanwhile, revenue declined to £37.2 million from a previous £46.3 million as the brand continued to transition away from price promotional activity.

While trading in the fourth quarter of the period was robust overall, February was softer than anticipated. However, the brand said it delivered “pleasing” levels of full price sales in March, with the momentum continuing into April.

During the year, Sosandar opened its first six stores, including Bath and Harrogate which launched in February.

Sosandar said: “This has been a year of we delivered what we set out to achieve: growth in margin and profit before tax, a reduction in price promotional activity and opening our first own stores.

Having delivered on our strategic objectives for the year, we are confident that we are now at an inflection point.

“We expect a return to sales growth in FY26 and the board reiterates its confidence in the company delivering market expectations for the new financial year. The foundations are also in place for sustainable, profitable and cash-generative growth over the medium to long-term.”
