Nike appoints Michael Gonda as chief communications officer
Nike has appointed Michael Gonda as executive vice president and chief communications officer.
Due to take up his role on 7 July, he will lead the sportswear giant’s global communications strategy, including storytelling, corporate and brand reputation, issues management and employee engagement.
Gonda has been working for the last six years with McDonald’s Corporation where he has held various senior leadership roles, including chief impact officer for North America and global chief communications officer. He has also served on several leadership bodies, including the global senior leadership team.
In his new position, he will report to Nike president and chief executive officer Elliott Hill.

Prior to McDonald’s, Gonda worked as senior vice president of corporate affairs at the purpose driven food company Chobani. Earlier in his career, he worked with the Weber Shandwick communications agency.
