New Look appoints Mark Matthews as retail director
New Look has appointed Mark Matthews as retail director.
Matthews was previously director of format and innovation at Co-op and prior to that worked as retail, operations and property director at Bonmarche. He has also previously held senior roles at George at Asda and Carphone Warehouse.
In his new position, he will be responsible for New Look’s store estate and will implement the company’s omnichannel strategy across its physical shops. Succeeding Elaine Cartwright, he will be part of New Look’s director team.

Mark brings extensive industry expertise and a customer-first mindset that will be key to our next phase of store development.

Elaine leaves our retail division in a place of strength, as we continue to optimise our store network, streamline the customer journey and strengthen in-store digital engagement. We wish her every success in her next role.”
Subscribe to TRBEarlier this year, New Look announced a £30 million investment to drive the next phase of its digital growth. Part of this supported the development of the retailer’s first loyalty app, Club New Look, which now has over 700,000 members.
