Burberry names new non-executive director

Luxury fashion group Burberry has appointed Danuta Gray as a non-executive director.

Gray, who will take on the role from 1 December, will also become a member of the remuneration and nomination committees. She is currently chair of insurance company Direct Line, which she joined in 2018.

Prior to this, Gray was chair at St Modwen Property and a member of the board at the Ministry of Defence. She also served on the boards of banking company Aldermore Bank, insurance company Old Mutual and Irish airline company Aer Lingus.

Between 2001 and 2010, Gray was CEO of telecommunications company Telefonico O2 in Ireland.

Gerry Murphy, chair at Burberry, said: “Danuta has a strong understanding of consumers and the use of technology gained through her executive career.”
