Asos appoints sportswear and outdoor director

Online fashion retailer Asos has appointed Tim Phipps as its sportswear and outdoor director.
According to Drapers, he will play a key role in the retailer’s commercial leadership team.
Phipps has been working with Nike for the last nine years, most recently as senior business director for NBHD and SNKRS. Prior to joining the sportswear giant, he was head of global footwear at Fred Perry and was UK fashion sales manager at Reebok.
At Asos, he will be involved in delivering a critical part of the retailer’s growth strategy by helping to evolve the sportswear and outdoor category for both own and third-party brands.
