Sustainable footwear brand Allbirds has appointed Gymshark executive Annie Mitchell as its new chief financial officer.
Due to take up her role on 24 April, Mitchell will succeed Mike Bufano, who will remain with the company until mid-May to ensure a smooth transition.
Mitchell currently holds the position of vice president of finance and insights at Gymshark’s North America business. Prior to that, she spent 10 years at Adidas where she worked in various finance positions, including senior vice president of finance for Adidas North America.
Joey Zwillinger, Allbirds co-chief executive officer, said: “Annie brings significant finance expertise, strategic planning capabilities and deep experience at a range of consumer companies including a strong understanding of the footwear industry. Her skills and leadership capabilities are an outstanding fit as we embark on our strategic transformation to reignite growth and drive profitability.”
Mitchell added: “I am thrilled to join Allbirds at this pivotal moment and see a significant opportunity ahead for value creation. As the company embarks on its transformation, I look forward to working with the entire Allbirds team to chart a clear path for profitable growth and shareholder value creation.”
