Neiman Marcus makes leadership promotions

Neiman Marcus has made two key promotions within its senior team as part of plans to support the department store chain’s growth plans.

Vijay Karthik has been promoted to the role of senior vice president, chief technology officer, while Amanda Martin has been named as senior vice president, chief supply chain officer.

Reporting to Bob Kupbens, chief product and technology officer, Karthik will be responsible for driving end-to-end customer facing IT development and architecture. This will involve leading a number of functions including omnichannel engineering, cloud platforms, operations and reliability, and architecture.

Meanwhile, Martin will take over responsibility for all supply chain operations, including Neiman Marcus Group’s multi-year supply chain transformation. She will also oversee the retailer’s photo studio and customer care divisions.

Geoffroy van Raemdonck, chief executive of Neiman Marcus Group, said: “We are fortunate to have such strong talent at our company that we are able to develop and promote to lead all of the critical growth work we are executing. I am confident in these leaders’ ability to drive results, the NMG|Way, that ladder up to the substantial investments we are making in the business over the next three years.”

The group is also continuing to make long-term investments in the business including more than $90 million in its supply chain to enhance  systems and distribution facilities, and $200 million in technology including the retailer’s Connect platform, the acquisition of Stylyze, and new digital labs.
