Cass Art to open new concept store at Coal Drops Yard

Cass Art is to unveil a new concept store at Coal Drops Yard in King’s Cross this September.

Situated in one of London’s most creative areas, the new shop has been designed to appeal to everyone from professional artists and students to hobbyists and first-time makers.

The brand said the 3,000 square foot space is intentionally minimalist in design to complement the range of art materials, contemporary stationery and creative lifestyle products on display.

Featuring a unique in-store frieze designed by Pentagram, which studies the pigments behind some of the most celebrated paintings in history, it also has spaces for conceptual art and sculpture, and a live social area designed for painting, workshops and being creative.

Mark Cass, founder of Cass Art, said: “I first looked at this site 12 years ago, so it’s incredibly exciting to finally see Cass Art become part of the King’s Cross community.

“As one of the most important creative hubs in the UK, it’s a natural home for us and we very much look forward to becoming part of this vibrant neighbourhood.

“We’ll officially launch the store on Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 September, with lots of fun activities and events planned and unique offers so make sure to plan your trip.”

Coal Drops Yard is home to more than 50 shops, restaurants and bars, as well as Google’s new King’s Cross headquarters and the Central Saint Martins art and design college, which Cass Art has partnered with for more than 30 years.
