Victoria Leeds kicks off their first fashion week in style with a sellout runway show

The launch of Victoria Leeds’ first Fashion Week was a grand spectacle, attracting a host of fashionistas and VIP guests to the historic Victoria Quarter.

Set against the backdrop of stunning Victorian architecture, the catwalk showcased the latest styles from luxury brands and premium high-street retailers at Yorkshire’s leading fashion destination.

Fashion Show Highlights

The opening night featured a runway presentation of Spring/Summer 2024 (SS24) trends, drawing inspiration from celebrated designers. Sicilian Summer from Harvey Nichols opened the show followed by various scenes, from Coastal Classics and red-themed Rosso, to Western Rebel and Noir featuring sparkling Boodles jewels.

The show opened with a stunning performance by a mirror ball contortionist, setting a glittering tone for the evening. A mix of musical talents provide the soundtrack to the evening, including an electric violinist styled by Vivienne Westwood and a showstopping performance from a Gospel Choir to close the show, creating an immersive experience that blended fashion with entertainment.

After the runway show, guests headed to the Harvey Nichols Fourth Floor Brasserie for an exclusive afterparty, where they danced the night away.

Anyone that missed out on a ticket to the show were able to watch online through the centre’s livestream across social media and its website, which attracted over 12’000 viewers across the hour’s broadcast, and the whole show will be available to stream on-demand from Friday 7th June at victorialeeds.co.uk.

Shop the Looks Campaign

Throughout Victoria Leeds Fashion Week, the centre’s “Shop the Looks” campaign across social media will feature all the items in the show, making it simple for shoppers to recreate the styles on display. Many participating brands including John Lewis, Sweaty Betty, GANT and Daniella Draper are offering exclusive deals on fashion and beauty, making it the perfect opportunity to refresh collections with the latest trends.

Fashion for Good: Smart Works Pop-Up

Highlighting the charitable spirit of the event, all profits from the fashion show are being donated to Smart Works, a UK-based charity dedicated to empowering women through secure employment and support. From 14th to 16th June, Smart Works will host a pop-up shop in Victoria Gate, featuring clothes from many favourite brands. Proceeds from the pop-up will directly benefit the charity, helping women build confidence and change their lives through employment opportunities.
