Toolstation to open new distribution centre in Northamptonshire

Toolstation is to open a new distribution centre in Northamptonshire to support its ongoing growth plans.

The retailer is currently working to open 60 new branches each year and has seen rapid growth in online and digital orders in the past 18 months.

Due to become operational in the fourth quarter of 2022, the 500,000 square foot facility at Prologis Park in Pineham will create around 250 jobs in the coming years.

Toolstation held a groundbreaking ceremony as it announced the news.

James Mackenzie, managing director of Toolstation, said: “The opening of this new warehousing facility will support our growth plans and enable Toolstation to continue to add to our 500-strong branch network and to help us meet the needs of our customers – both digital and in branch – more effectively.”

James Straw, capital deployment and leasing associate at Prologis UK, added: “It’s great to see Toolstation secure the last space on Prologis Park Pineham which is a prime logistics location that will allow Toolstation’s current growth trajectory to continue.”
