Portmeirion hires former Denby executives as it accelerates transformation plan
Portmeirion Group has appointed former Denby executives Jane Mason and Hayley Baddiley to its senior leadership team to support the delivery of its transformation plan.
Previously Denby’s UK and Ireland managing director, Mason has become UK and Europe director at Portmeirion where she will lead commercial activities across both markets. This will include responsibility for sales growth, customer relationships, channel development and performance across all channels.
Subscribe to TRBPrior to Denby, she was UK managing director for DK Household Brands and global sales director for the Craster hospitality business. She also worked with Le Creuset UK for 14 years, most recently as head of sales.
Meanwhile, Baddiley will lead Portmeirion Group’s brand and marketing strategy, with responsibility for strengthening brand equity, particularly for the Spode, Portmeirion and Royal Worcester brands.
She was was previously group marketing director at Denby where she led its brand transformation and multichannel communication strategies.
Following the company’s administration earlier this year, she led the development and delivery of the #SaveDenby campaign. The campaign attracted more than 100,000 signatures on a public petition, prompting a government debate on supporting the UK ceramics industry with industrial energy costs.
The appointments follow the recent arrival of Michael Scheepers as chief executive of Portmeirion Group and the successful raising of approximately £18.6 million through a share placing with existing and new shareholders earlier this month. The funds will be used to reduce debt and support the delivery of the group’s transformation plan.
In the past year, Portmeirion Group has also appointed Victoria Brabender to the newly created role of product strategy director and promoted Sam Pearce to the position of chief operating officer.
