JYSK to invest in mattress training for 23,000 employees

JYSK is to invest in mattress sales training for 23,000 store staff.

The new JYSK ‘Sleep Academy’ will consist of two training modules across several working days.

Taking place annually across all JYSK markets, the programme will enable participants to gain a deeper knowledge of sleeping products and learn about things like pressure on the body, temperature regulators and body support. Following the sessions, participants will train colleagues in their local store.

JYSK retail operational director Michael Olesen said: “No-one has ever become world champion without lots of practice. That is why we decided to have JYSK Sleep Academy, so we can make sure that all of our store employees have the knowledge to sell the customer the right mattress taking individual needs into account.”

Ruben Faarup Christensen, JYSK purchasing director for mattresses, added: “Mattresses are one of our core products, and we want to be the customers first choice when looking for a new mattress. Therefore, I am very happy that we continuously train our store colleagues to be able to give a professional and competent service to our customers.”
