Frasers Group acquires two designer outlet centres
Frasers Group has acquired two designer outlet centres in Yorkshire and the East Midlands in a move which has boosted its share of the total UK outlet market.
The move follows the group’s purchase of the Swindon Designer Outlet late last year.
Subscribe to TRBThe latest acquisitions include the 260,000 square foot York Designer Outlet which is situated just outside York city centre and is home to 120 UK and international brands. It currently welcomes 4.3 million visitors each year.
It also includes East Midlands Designer Outlet, a 170,000 square foot scheme near to the M1 motorway, which has 65 designer brands and annual footfall of 3.5 million.
Michael Murray, chief executive officer at Frasers Group, said: “These strategic acquisitions reinforce our vision, leveraging strong partnerships with leading global brands to unlock mutual value – supporting their outlet strategies while driving growth.
“Today, we own over one-fifth of the UK outlet market and have a clear ambition to grow our share further.”
