Sephora opens Glasgow store at Silverburn as it completes UK summer expansion

Sephora has opened its first store in Glasgow at Silverburn, marking its fourth and final shop launch of the summer.

The opening comes a month after the beauty retailer made its Scottish debut at Edinburgh’s St James Quarter.

Spanning 4,940 square feet, the store was opened with a ribbon-cutting by Sephora UK’s managing director Sarah Boyd, alongside the UK leadership team.

Celebrations will run throughout the opening weekend, with live music, beauty experiences, exclusive rewards and giveaways on offer.

The store offers customers access to Only at Sephora brands including Rhode, Haus Labs, Makeup by Mario, Merit Beauty, Half Magic, Yepoda and Tower 28, as well as social media favourites Tatcha, Tarte, Summer Fridays and Kosas. Scottish beauty brands Vieve and Byoma are also available.

Beyond the shelves, customers can take advantage of Sephora UK’s new Beauty Scan technology, which uses an advanced lens operated by a beauty advisor to assess factors such as skin oil and hydration levels to support more precise foundation shade matching.

Boyd said: “The opening of our Glasgow Silverburn store is a proud milestone for Sephora UK. Following the incredible response to our Edinburgh opening, we knew beauty lovers in the west of Scotland were ready for Sephora too, and we’re so excited to finally open our doors.

“Every new store is about more than just opening a new place to shop. We want to create a beauty destination where people can discover something new, experiment, learn and be inspired. Glasgow has such an incredible energy and sense of style, and we can’t wait to become part of the city’s beauty community.”

Diarmuid Donohoe, general manager of Silverburn, said: “Sephora UK’s arrival in Scotland is one of the biggest retail stories of the summer. Their decision to open their first Glasgow store at Silverburn reflects our position as a leading retail destination and our appeal to the most sought-after international brands. We could not be more thrilled to welcome them.”

This summer, Sephora has also opened boutique stores in London’s Carnaby Street and Old Spitalfields Market. The new boutique format has been developed to enable the retailer to launch shops in convenient high street locations.

Sephora is planning further store openings before the end of the year as it works towards a nationwide portfolio of 20 sites.
