Scotland’s largest Superdrug opens at Braehead Centre
Superdrug has today opened its biggest store in Scotland – located in Braehead Shopping Centre.
Braehead, one of the UK’s most popular retail and leisure destinations, is owned by property company SGS and managed by Global Mutual.
The health and beauty retailer has relocated from its previous unit, upsizing to an 11,000 sq ft space – which will be the brand’s largest in Scotland.
The new store occupies a central space on the ground floor of the mall, a prime position in the centre.
The store will offer Superdrug’s full range of healthcare and beauty products, as well as housing an eyebrow threading concession.
The expanded space has been taken on a 10-year lease, and comes ahead of many other exciting openings in the pipeline for 2023, which will further enhance Braehead’s retail offer.
Nigel Duxbury, Property Director at Superdrug, said: “We’re thrilled to be opening the doors to our brand-new store in Braehead. We can’t wait for our local customers to visit – with a professional Beauty Studio, fragrance counter, exclusive brands and more, we’re confident that it’s going to be a hit.”
Braehead is a leading retail and leisure destination just outside of Glasgow, covering 1.1 million sq ft and drawing from a catchment of approximately 2.1 million. The centre is home to a diverse mix of retail brands – including many renowned household names, such as M&S, Apple, FLANNELS, GAP and NEXT – as well as a host of unique local and independent brands.
Steve Gray, Head of European Retail Asset Management at Global Mutual, commented: “We’re excited to see Scotland’s largest Superdrug open at Braehead – and we know our shoppers will be too.
“Superdrug has been with us for a long time, and this news reflects the great relationship we have with the team – and also how well the previous store performed.
“We’re seeing lots of tenants upsize to larger stores across our centres – something we expect to see more of as footfall continues to recover.”
