Snappy Group expands senior team with chief financial officer hiring

Snappy Shopper owner The Snappy Group has hired Barry McGonagle as its chief financial officer as part of plans to accelerate its next phase of growth.

The moves follows several senior appointments by the business in recent months following a successful fundraising last year. These included a strengthening of its senior sales team with the appointments of Paul Adams as group sales director and Alasdair Lindsay as head of hospitality sales at Hungrrr.

McGonagle will head up Snappy’s financial operations and set the finance strategy. He previously held senior finance roles within Trip.com Group and at Skyscanner, where he built the finance function to support international growth.

Mike Callachan, chief executive and co-founder of The Snappy Group, said: “I am very pleased that Barry has agreed to join our senior leadership team. His experience with start ups and highgrowth technology businesses, as well as larger corporations will be extremely valuable to the Snappy Group as we pursue our goal to support more and more local businesses to bring on demand convenience to local communities across the UK and beyond.”
