Notonthehighstreet hires Barrie Seidenberg as CEO

Online gifting marketplace Notonthehighstreet has named Barrie Seidenberg as its new chief executive.

Seidenberg will join the business on 23 April after more than a decade of working as chief executive of Viator, the global marketplace for local tours and activities. Her time at Viator also included two years as president of TripAdvisor Attractions.

In her new role, Seidenberg will lead the Notonthehighstreet team, working with David Phillips, chief financial officer, and Ella d’Amato, chief commercial and partner officer. Phillips and d’Amato have been managing the business, alongside chairman Darren Shapland, as part of the company’s interim leadership structure since September 2017.

Shapland said: “Barrie brings with her a wealth of expertise from her time at Viator and TripAdvisor, not least her track record of growth and her deep understanding of both digital marketplaces and customer experience. Her strong leadership credentials and passion for working with small businesses makes her the perfect person to take Notonthehighstreet forward.”

He also thanked Phillips and d’Amato for their interim leadership and said they had developed ambitious plans for the future, some of which were already being implemented and delivering results.

Seidenberg said: “I look forward to working with the talented and passionate team behind Notonthehighstreet as well as the company’s network of more than 4,000 partners, and I am eager to immerse myself in the business to discover opportunities for ongoing innovation, meaningful expansion and continued growth.”

To take up the position, Seidenberg will be relocating with her family from San Francisco to London.
