Hobbycraft personalise festive range

Hobbycraft reveals sales of its ‘Ceramic Decorations’ range have soared over the past four weeks (+820% compared to last year), as Brit’s plan to put on a truly magical festive display throughout the home this year, with a more personalised touch.

The retailers ‘Ceramic Decorations’ are a perfect blank canvas for creating distinct, personalised ornaments to hang on your tree – whether it’s making one for a family member by adding their initial for a simple, thoughtful touch, or painting a unique design with watercolour paints… the possibilities are endless!

The retailer first saw a spike in demand for Christmas in April. Yes, April! This included a huge spike in searches for its ‘Christmas Sale’ on Hobbycraft.co.uk, increasing by over 5000% compared to same time last year. At the end of September this year, searches for ‘Ceramic Decorations’ were up 260%, and searches for its ‘Baubles’ range were up 70% in August, compared to the period last year.

The unprecedented demand for ceramics prompted the retailer to launch a Christmas Ceramic Brush Lettering workshop for customers – sessions can be booked now and will be held in-store and online in November, and customers will receive a craft kit packed with all the craft supplies they need to decorate their ceramics.

Katherine Paterson, Customer Director at Hobbycraft comments: “It is great to see our customers getting into the Christmas spirit earlier than ever. After what has been a challenging year, and with most people having smaller celebrations or cancelled celebrations last year, I’m confident that customers will be looking to make this Christmas a memorable one as they look to celebrate with those that they’ve missed and want to make memories with.”
