Currys triples size of headquarters as it continues to embrace hybrid working

Currys is tripling the size of its headquarters as it reaffirms its commitment to hybrid working.

The omnichannel tech and electricals retailer is expanding its space at WeWork’s flagship location in London’s Waterloo from 6,700 to 18,200 square feet.

In statement, Currys said its hybrid working model had proved exceptionally popular with staff, with 93% saying it had a positive impact on their work-life balance and 92% saying it had positively impacted their productivity.

Employees are able to book their desk in advance and can  also access over 40 WeWork locations in the UK.

Paula Coughlan, chief people, communications and sustainability officer at Currys, said: “We’re really proud of our hybrid model, which has delivered fantastic benefits for our colleagues, our customers and our business.

“Our colleague engagement is at record levels – helped by the flexibility offered by hybrid working. And our most recent financial results show that hybrid working and commercial success can flourish together.

“That’s why I’m delighted we’re expanding our footprint here at our WeWork HQ, which will continue to give our colleagues access to brilliant facilities, and even more space for creativity and collaboration, right in the heart of London.”

In January, Currys upgraded its profit guidance as it reported that like-for-like revenue growth accelerated to 6% in its busy Christmas trading period.
