Currys appoints new non-executive director
Currys has appointed Rune Bjerke as a non-executive director.
Bjerke has had an extensive career working in international energy and banking corporations in Norway, which has included chief executive roles at DNB, Hafslund and Scancem International.
He has also been an advisor at the Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy and city commissioner of finance in the city cabinet of Oslo.
In addition, Bjerke has served as a non-executive director at several leading companies, including Fremtind, Vipps and Schibsted.
Ian Dyson, chair of the Currys board, said: “Rune has a strong record of business leadership and a deep knowledge of the Nordics markets and will bring extensive international experience and constructive challenge to the board, especially in relation to the group’s Nordics business. I look forward to working with him.”
