Amazon to create 1,500 UK apprenticeships

Amazon has announced plans to create 1,500 UK apprenticeships this year as it revealed that its British workforce increased by 25,000  in 2021.

The roles will be offered across 40 different schemes in sectors such as retailing, publishing, marketing, social, environmental and corporate  governance. Furthermore, 200 of the positions will be at degree level.

Amazon has invested a total of £32 billion in the UK since 2010.

John Boumphrey, Amazon UK country manager, said: “We are proud to have created so many new permanent jobs across the UK in the last year, and the 1,500 apprenticeships we’re creating this year will help even more people get the skills that are in demand in today’s labour market.”

Amazon has also revealed that its UK workforce grew to 70,00 in 2021.
