Sainsbury’s cuts prices on 125 summer foods

Sainsbury’s has cut the prices of 125 summer foods ahead of this weekend’s heatwave.

It has reduced the cost of items like burgers, pork sausages and king prawns as well as avocados, lettuce and tomatoes.

The supermarket says a basket of barbecue items costs £6.95 less following the price cuts. With temperatures predicted to be as high as 32 degrees this weekend, Sainsbury’s is expecting sales uplifts across many seasonal lines.

Paul Mills-Hicks, food commercial director at Sainsbury’s, said: “With a weekend of hot weather ahead, our customers will be stocking up on everything from sausages to strawberries. They can find great quality products for fantastic value at Sainsbury’s.”
