Ocado appoints AI and machine learning expert as non-executive director

Online supermarket Ocado has appointed Nadia Shouraboura as a non-executive director.

Due to take up her role on 1 September, she will also be a member of the nomination committee.

A leader in the field of machine learning and robotics, Shouraboura founded and served as the chief executive of Hointer until 2018 and previously worked as a vice president at Amazon. She is also an experienced non-executive director after sitting on a number of listed companies’ boards in the UK and internationally.

Tim Steiner, chief executive of Ocado Group, said: “I am very excited to welcome Nadia to the board. I know she will bring to the role a huge amount of relevant expertise working with high growth, progressive technologies both as an entrepreneur and CEO, and as an expert in AI, software development and robotics, as well as great energy and vision. This is a fantastic time to be joining Ocado and we have never been as excited about the future. We are truly delighted to have Nadia on the journey with us.”
