Majestic unveils new Trowbridge store as part of £4m expansion

Majestic has unveiled the first new store of its current financial year as part of a £4 million investment in new sites.

The branch on Trowbridge’s Wicker Hill stocks more than 1,000 wines, including 72 fine wines, as well as a range of beers, spirits, low and no alcohol alternatives, soft drinks, snacks and gifts.

The shop also offers complementary services including free glass hire, bespoke wedding tastings, and a “No Quibble Guarantee”, where customers can return any wines they do not like in exchange for a bottle of the equivalent value.

The new store will also supply wines to gastropubs, bars and restaurants in Wiltshire.

Majestic is planning to launch at least four new stores, alongside a comprehensive programme of improvements to its existing shops, in the 2026/2027 financial year.

The company has been putting experiential, store-based retailing back at the heart of its growth plan since its split from Naked Wines and subsequent acquisition by Fortress Investment Group in 2019.

Since then, Majestic has opened more than 25 new shops in England, Scotland, Wales and Jersey.

John Colley, executive chairman and chief executive of Majestic Wine Group, said: “Our Trowbridge opening marks the start of another important year of investment for the Majestic business.

“Our experiential stores and expert colleagues have always been right at the heart of what we do best at Majestic, and they remain a central part of our strategic plan as we expand into new communities across the UK.

“This just the start of our exciting expansion plans for the year ahead, and underscores our confidence in the future of experiential bricks and mortar retail.”
