Asda cuts prices on nearly 1,000 products

Asda has announced a round of major price reductions across a range of categories including core grocery, household, non-edible and ‘Free From’.

Prices have been cut on 956 products both in-store and online by an average of 6% with some dropping by over 30%.

Items  include key cupboard staples like pasta, cooking sauces, tea and coffee, as well as 49 products in the retailer’s ‘Free From’ range.

Customers will see Yorkshire Tea (240 pack) reduced from £6.32 to £5, Asda Gravy Granules cut from £1 to 69p and the price of Asda Chicken Tikka Masala (392g) reduced from £2.40 to £1.57.

The move follows Asda’s latest Income Tracker which found that lower-income households are facing a weekly shortfall of £74 between their earnings and the cost of essential spending.

The price cuts are in addition to the 3452 Rollback deals currently available.

Rachel Eyre, chief customer officer at Asda, said: “We understand the pressure families are under from rising living costs and we’re stepping up our support as we enter an expensive time of year for our customers.

“We’re cutting prices on the everyday products they rely on the most, helping them bring down their food bills and get even more value every time they shop with us. This is real support, where it counts. That’s Asda Price.”
