In a statement, AWWG credited Wartenbergh with leading period of successful transformation driven by a focus on people, culture, and how teams worked together.

Fernandez (pictured left) has worked with AWWG since 2006, starting off as group project manager at Pepe Jeans and ultimately becoming the brand’s chief transformation officer. In 2021, she was appointed as AWWG’s chief business officer and subsequently became chief finance and business officer.

AWWG said: “We are pleased to welcome Laura as CEO. Her long-standing journey within the company and her pivotal role in shaping this transformation make her the natural choice to lead AWWG into its next phase.

“We would like to thank Marcella for her leadership in building this group and platform from the ground up, and for placing people and culture at the centre of AWWG’s transformation.

“AWWG looks ahead with confidence as it continues to evolve as a global platform, powered by its people and culture.”
