Next hires new non-executive director

Fashion and homewares retailer Next has appointed Soumen Das as a non-executive director.
In a statement, Next said his hiring would strengthen its board’s knowledge and experience of the UK property and capital markets following the stepping down of Francis Salway in May of this year.
Das is currently working as chief financial Officer of UK and European real estate investment trust SEGRO. Possessing over eleven years’ board level experience with listed companies, his prior roles include managing director and chief financial officer of Capital & Counties Properties and he was also previously an executive director of UBS within the investment bank.
Das has also become a member of Next’s nomination, audit and remuneration committees.
