Next appoints Lipsy’s Jeremy Stakol as executive director

Next has confirmed the appointment of Jeremy Stakol as non-executive director, putting him in charge of boosting the retailer’s online sales.

Stakol will become director of group investments, acquisitions and third party brands.

Next said he will focus on investments and acquisitions in third party brands, the promotion of Total Platform to potential new clients, the sale of all third party fashion brands on next.co.uk (excluding home brands) and the continued development of Lipsy and other wholly owned non-Next brands. He will also focus on overseas wholesale, franchise and licencing of Next-branded stock.

Stakol has a Masters in professional accounting and spent his early career in the finance department of a large media company. In 2004, he joined Lipsy as managing director. He joined the Next Group in that same role 14 years ago when Lipsy was bought by Next.

“In more years, Jeremy has successfully led many of the recent new investment deals and related Total Platform opportunities (such as Joules, Victoria’s Secret, Gap and others),” the company said.
