New Look to trial charging for postal returns

Fashion retailer New Look is to trial charging customers for online orders returned by post.

Shoppers will be asked to pay a £1.99 fee although they will still have the option to return their items to a New Look shop without charge.

The move follows similar charges introduced by Zara and Boohoo last year.

A New Look spokesperson said: “New Look has taken the decision to trial a £1.99 fee for postal returns. This is in line with the wider industry, and reflects increased costs related to delivery and collection.  Customers are still able to return their online orders tour stores free of charge.”

New Look confirmed last week that is closing a small number of stores in the UK as part of “the normal course of business”.
