N Brown names new design director

N Brown Group has recruited Joules’ head of design Helen Low as its new design director.

The owner of the JD Williams, Simply Be and Jacomo fashion brands said Low will replace current incumbent Neil Hendy who announced his decision to leave the business earlier this year. She will take up her new position later this month.

Low joined Joules in November 2020 and has previously held senior design roles at Debenhams, George at Asda and Marks & Spencer.

Reporting to N Brown’s chief executive of retail Sarah Welsh, she will be responsible for driving a more distinct customer proposition for the three brands.

Welsh told Drapers: “Helen has a wealth of design, innovation and strategy experience from across the fashion industry and will instantly become a valued member of our team. She joins us at a really exciting time for the business as we continue to elevate our fashion proposition through our differentiated brand portfolio to make our customers look and feel amazing.”
