Laings appoints general manager for new Glasgow flagship

Jewellery and watch retailer Laings has appointed Graham Bruce as general manager of its flagship Glasgow showroom.

In his new position, he will be responsible for preparing Laings’ store team for the grand opening of its new Rowan House space on Glasgow’s prestigious ‘style mile’ in 2023.

The redevelopment of Rowan House is part of a wider £10 million investment by Laings to improve and expand its showrooms across the UK, including Edinburgh, Cardiff and Southampton.

Bruce previously worked with jeweller Fraser Hart and prior to that held the position of London manager with Chisholm Hunter.  His new post marks a return to his hometown of Glasgow.

Stuart McDowell, managing director at Laings, said: “Graham is a well-respected leader in the industry and we look forward to welcoming him to the Laings family. His background, skills and passion speak volumes, and I cannot think of anyone better to be at the helm of our flagship, delivering an unparalleled luxury experience.”

Laings will launch a wider recruitment programme to appoint specialists into various roles, including watchmakers, in the new year.
