John Lewis to add 100 new fashion brands

John Lewis is to add 100 new fashion brands to its offering as it targets higher clothing sales as part of its turnaround strategy.

According to The Telegraph, the retailer is preparing to add dozens of ranges across womenswear and menswear from both premium and up-and-coming brands.

New lines to be introduced in the autumn will include 25 options across bags and accessories from Mulberry, parkas from Nigel Cabourn, and camping wear from Japan’s Snowpeak. There will also be new items from high-end brands like Akyn, By Malene Birger and Iro.

Additionally, the retailer is planning to launch its biggest ever own label cashmere collection this autumn as it looks to drive sales in the category up by at least a fifth this year.

Rachel Morgans, director of fashion at John Lewis, told the newspaper that John Lewis is “carefully curating a premium quality range that offers customers something different.”

She added: “When it comes to brands, we’re not chasing numbers but focusing on those that appeal to our customers and offer something new.”
