Dr. Martens appoints Isadora Versiani and Nadia Svensson to senior product roles
Dr. Martens has made two senior appointments for newly created roles in its global product leadership team as it enters its next phase of growth.
Due to join the business in November, Isadora Versiani will become global product design director, while Nadia Svensson has been hired as global merchandising and product director.
Subscribe to TRBWith more than 17 years of global footwear design and product innovation experience, Versiani is currently design director of footwear at Marc Jacobs, where she has worked since 2020. She has previously held senior roles at Tory Burch and BCBG Max Azria Group, and worked with a range of footwear brands including Vida Shoes, Manolo Blahnik and Michael Kors. She has also created footwear collections for Rihanna and Serena Williams.
Meanwhile, Svensson previously worked with Adidas for five years, where she was senior product director in Shanghai, leading outdoor and sportswear category growth across Greater China and APAC.
Prior to that, she led global product management at Kathmandu in New Zealand and Australia, and was part of Zalando’s early growth phase in Europe in her role as senior product development manager.
In their new positions, Versiani and Svensson will both report to Carla Murphy, Dr. Martens’ chief brand officer.
Murphy said: “Isadora and Nadia are exceptional additions to Dr. Martens, bringing together a rare combination of creative vision, product expertise and international market experience. They have both built their careers at some of the world’s most influential footwear, fashion and performance brands, and I’m excited about what they will bring to the brand.
“These newly created roles are an important investment in our product and brand future. As we move further into our consumer-first model, it is critical that we bring product design back to the centre of the brand, with a sharper understanding of what consumers want and where we show up for them.”
She added: “Dr. Martens has an incredibly distinctive brand and a loyal global consumer base. Working with our teams Isadora and Nadia will help us build on that strength creating products that feel unmistakably Dr. Martens, while making the brand increasingly relevant and desirable to more consumers in more markets. This is an exciting step forward as we enter our next phase of growth.”
Last month, Dr. Martens announced that it had appointed former Sephora president of Asia, Alia Gogi, as a non-executive director.
