Debenhams Group appoints Paul Aspden as chief technology officer
Debenhams Group has appointed Paul Aspden as chief technology officer as it enters its next phase of growth.
Having joined the group in 2023 as director of technology, he has been instrumental in developing and scaling the proprietary technology ecosystem underpinning its marketplace model, which has been central to the business’s ongoing turnaround.
Subscribe to TRBPrior to this, Aspden was managing director of MoFast Performance and was an associate director of JD Sports Fashion.
In his new role, he will focus on scaling the technology platform with continued enhancements to brand partner onboarding and management, while driving further innovation through the expanded use of AI to improve decision making, operational efficiency and the customer experience.

Debenhams Group has recently welcomed Nikki Tattersall as chief product officer to lead product strategy across its youth brands.
Last month, the group announced a 36% increase in full-year adjusted EBITDA to £53 million, which was ahead of its upgraded guidance issued in January.
