Burberry non-executive director to stand down
Burberry has announced that Sam Fischer is to stand down as a non-executive director to focus on business commitments in Australia where he is based.
The move will take effect from the conclusion of the luxury brand’s annual general meeting in July 2025.
Fischer is currently chief executive of the Lion beverage company in Australia and previously held senior positions at Diageo. Having joined the Burberry board in 2019, he serves on the remuneration and nomination committees and will continue to do so until his retirement.
Gerry Murphy, Burberry chair, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Sam for his commitment and insightful contributions to the board since joining in 2019. The board and I wish him the very best in his future endeavours.”
