Boohoo appoints new chief financial officer

Online fashion retail group Boohoo has appointed Shaun McCabe as its new chief financial officer.

He currently holds the same role at Trainline and has previously worked as international director at Asos and chief financial officer at Amazon Europe. He is also currently a non-executive director at Boohoo where he chairs the audit and risk committees,

Mahmud Kamani, Boohoo group executive chairman, said: “It has been a great pleasure to work with Shaun over the last two years and we are delighted to have him onboard in his new capacity later this year. His digital and sector experience at Trainline, Asos and Amazon will be key to driving the group’s next stage of growth.”

In his new role, McCabe will succeed Neil Catto who is moving to an executive director role and will remain on the Boohoo board with responsibility for strategic projects.

Kamani added: “Neil has been key to the group’s success since it listed and I would like to take this opportunity to extend my gratitude, and that of the board, for his contribution to the business. During his tenure as CFO Bboohoo has grown significantly, we now have 20 million active customers and 13 different fashion destinations. We are delighted that he will continue to support the senior management team as an executive director and in his role overseeing strategic projects.”

Meanwhile, Brian Small will replace McCabe as chair of the audit committee and Tim Morris will chair the risk committee. Boohoo said it will be commencing a search for McCabe’s replacement and one further non-executive director.
