ASOS strengthens board with new appointments

Online fashion retailer ASOS has strengthened its board with the appointment of four independent non-executive directors.

Karen Geary has joined the board with immediate effect and will become chair of the remuneration committee on 1 December. She has extensive HR experience having been chief human resources officer at Micro Focus International, chief people officer at Wandisco and chief people officer at The Sage Group.

Meanwhile, Ocado Solutions chief executive Luke Jensen will take up his position on the board on 1 November and will sit on the audit and nomination committees. Prior to joining  Ocado, he was senior advisor at Boston Consulting Group and group development director at Sainsbury’s.

Mai Fyfield will also join the board on 1 November and will be part of the audit and remuneration committees. Fyfield is currently chief commercial and strategy officer at Sky and also serves as a non-executive director on the boards of Roku, BBC Commercial Holdings and the Nationwide Building Society.

In a final appointment, Eugenia Ulasewicz will join the board on 16 April. Ulasewicz was president of Americas for Burberry Group from 1998 to 2013 and previously held senior retail positions at Bloomingdale’s, Galeries Lafayette and Saks Fifth Avenue. She currently holds non-executive roles with Bunzl, Signet Jewellers, Vince Holding Corp and Hudson Group. She  will sit on the audit and nomination committees.

Adam Crozier, chairman of ASOS, said: “On behalf of the board, I’d like to warmly welcome Karen, Luke, Mai and Eugenia to ASOS. Their world-class experience, skills, and expertise will be essential in guiding the business through the next stage of global growth, fuelled by the substantial investments it has made over the past few years.”
