Antler names new managing director

British luggage brand Antler has named Kirsty Glenne as its new its managing director as it looks ahead to a full brand rejuvenation and significant international expansion.

The appointment is the first since the business was acquired by ATR Brands, an affiliate of Australian based retailer Strandbags.

Glenne previously held C-suite positions at luxury brands such as Alexander McQueen and Dr Barbara Sturm and has considerable digital experience.

Glenne said: “Established in 1914, Antler is a unique brand with a rich heritage of innovation, ripe for reimagination. After a time of global reflection, as we enter a new era particularly when it comes to travel, there is significant potential to realise Antler’s ambition of becoming a globally recognised, British travel brand.”

She is now leading a full brand repositioning for Antler which will be revealed in the coming months.

Felicity McGahan, group chief executive of  Strandbags, said: “Kirsty brings the strategic insight and ambition we were looking for to lead the team and ensure Antler realises its potential to sit alongside other world-class British brands on the global stage.”

Previously only active in the UK, Antler took back the keys toits Australian market from a local distributor at the end of 2021. It has also recently rolled out an ecommerce store in Europe and is planning an online launch in the US in early 2023.
