The LEGO Group to open second store at Trafford Centre

The LEGO Group has announced another store in the city of Manchester is on its way.

Opening this winter at Trafford Centre, the new store will be the brand’s 19th store in the UK and second in Greater Manchester.

LEGO fans of all ages will have endless opportunities to fully immerse themselves in the world of LEGO building, with imagination and creativity underscoring every aspect of the store. This will include:

·       LEGO Pick a Brick Wall: a great way for customers to select the exact elements that they require for their builds.

·       Hands-on Play Opportunities: including free build challenges and events each month.

·       Build a Minifigure Tower: visitors can mix and match from a wide selection of bottoms, tops, heads, hair pieces and accessories to customise LEGO minifigures.

·       Store Associates: whether customers are picking out a gift, looking for the latest set, or bringing a LEGO fan in for a special treat, the LEGO team can help find the perfect set for everyone.

Amy Pearson, Director of EMEA Marketing at the LEGO Group, said: “We’ve been searching for the perfect location to open a second store in Greater Manchester and are thrilled to have found this within Trafford Centre. The new LEGO store will allow builders of all ages to be inspired by the endless play opportunities LEGO has to offer. This store will be a top retail destination for product launches and events, while acting as a hub for our tenured LEGO community and new builders alike, welcoming them to an exciting journey of discovery with the LEGO universe.”

Simon Layton, Centre Director at Trafford Centre, commented: “We’re absolutely delighted to be welcoming the LEGO Store to Trafford Centre. As a family-friendly retail and leisure destination, we’re confident that guests of all ages will love immersing themselves in this fun and colourful store.”

The new 267sqm store offers an extensive range of new products only available exclusively at LEGO stores and, including the LEGO | Disney Castle and the new Harry Potter™ Gringotts™ Wizarding Bank sets. In addition, LEGO Insiders members will receive benefits at the new store such as exclusive gifts with purchase, double points events and much more.

The official opening date and dates for in-store events will be announced soon.

This new store will become the 19th LEGO Store in the UK, offering a range of new jobs within the local community. This follows an extremely successful year for The LEGO Group opening stores in the newly renovated Battersea Power Station and another Irish store in Dublin.

Trafford Centre is one of Greater Manchester’s largest indoor shopping and leisure centres and is the third largest shopping centre in the UK by retail size, spanning 207,000 metres squared in total. The centre was built in 1998 and has since been a key shopping attraction within the North West and beyond.
