Fonehouse launches in-store mobile phone repair service

Mobile phone retailer Fonehouse has launched an accredited walk-in mobile phone repair service.

After being introduced in an initial 30 locations, the service will be rolled out across the remainder of the retailer’s 60 UK high street stores.

Fonehouse said all phone repairs will be carried out using high-quality parts by accredited technicians. The service is now pre-bookable online in the 30 launch stores.

For pre-booked appointments, Fonehouse promises that repairs will be made within one hour. The retailer also said most walk-in repairs will be carried out on the same-day due to it holding large quantities of parts.

Special launch offers include battery replacements from £35, screen repairs from £49, and back glass replacements from £49.

In 2023, Fonehouse is aiming to grow the service to 100 locations.

Ben Branson, chief executive at Fonehouse said: “The UK Is crying out to have its first, truly national walk-in repair service for mobile phone repair and we believe we are well placed to deliver this.

“As we grow in 2023, we will look to double down on our investment into the UK high street and create local jobs. We see a huge opportunity for providing a high quality local mobile phone repair service that is in easy reach of much of the UK population.

“We recently conducted research into what matters the most to consumers needing a repair. It highlighted the importance of local, easy-to-reach, trusted locations with a fast 1-hour repair turnaround that works on their schedule. These are the pillars of which we have designed our new national repair service to best serve the needs of our local communities.”
