JD Sports to open flagship store at Lion Walk
JD Sports is to launch a new flagship store at Colchester’s Lion Walk shopping destination.
Due to open this month, the store will add to the wider retail line-up in Lion Walk which includes the likes of M&S, River Island and Boots.
Nigel Keen, group property director for JD Sports, said: “Despite the challenges of the last 18 months we have worked alongside CBRE Investment Management on this opportunity for JD to upsize from our current store to Culver Walk. This new location allows us to offer an extended and relevant representation of our product range for the benefit of the Colchester consumers.”
Under its new management, Lion Walk’s retail offering has continued to grow over the last two years with a range of major high street brands joining the scheme. Despite the pandemic, the centre is currently at its highest ever occupancy and attracts 180,000 customers per week.
